Woven niobium and silver brooch – purple

Made by Caitlin Murphy

Woven niobium and silver brooch in purple by Caitlin Murphy, Co. Down, Northern Ireland.

The brooches are wearable art to adorn the body, made by recycling all offcuts from her larger scale pieces to maintain sustainability. The niobium is rolled down to 0.1mm before she weaves it allowing her to work with it like textiles in metal. It is also a hypoallergenic material and is therefore ideal for jewellery alongside silver. Measurements: 40 x 30 mm.
