About the maker:

Gavin Campbell is a furniture maker and woodwork teacher based in Co. Tyrone. He uses traditional green woodworking skills where the wood has been hewn from the log with an axe to maintain its natural strength and beautiful grain then whittled with a carving knife to achieve a smooth finish.

“I have been involved with furniture design and making since I was very young, I come from a long line of stonemasons but My Dad branched out into woodworking and I followed him. Growing up in my Dads workshop I had a wonderful childhood which included a traditional apprenticeship with a real emphasis on hand skills and quality workmanship”.
