Text on back: ‘Marriage Trees- In Irish folklore two trees growing together are known as marriage trees. As they become intertwined they symbolise the married couple putting down roots and growing together in the years ahead.’

About the maker:

“My images are inspired by the countryside where I live along with gorgeous gardens and beautiful landscapes I have seen on my travels in Ireland and Britain.

I also design and publish Algan Arts greetings cards. I have a B.A. Hons from the Art College in Belfast and a M.F.A. in Fine Art Printmaking from Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, USA.

 I have been in business, trading as Algan Arts, since 1995. I use my Victorian cast iron press to print my linocuts on irish linen. It was made in 1837!”
