Large Tangle studs, handmade by Kate Bajic in sterling silver.

The Tangle stud earrings are a lightweight stud with an intricate hand chased silver surface. The shapes are inspired by the patterns observed in seaweed left on the shoreline when the tide has gone out. The silver has been given a tangled linear pattern with a whitened finish where the raised areas have been burnished to catch the light.

About the maker:

British jeweller Kate Bajic exhibits and sells her jewellery in the UK and internationally. She works from her home studio in North Leicestershire, drawing on a lifelong interest in the natural world as her main inspiration.

Through observation, photography and drawing, Kate translates aspects into her jewellery using traditional hand fabrication techniques. These include hand chasing patterns and piercing complex shapes. This gentle and involved approach allows slight imperfections created during the making process to bring a richness to her jewellery: something Kate celebrates and hopes brings a vibrancy to her work.
